Jakarta and The Motorcyclist

Introduction

No offense here..

Just being honest..

Majority pictures a thousand words. Minority, a singer without a voice.

but really,

I HATE MOTORCYCLE RIDERS IN JAKARTA!

Issues

Facts:
  • Lack of disciplines
Seriously, not stopping when traffic lights turn red. Drove in the opposite way although it's clearly signed as one way road. Random U-Turn. Travelling without helmet. No lights in the nighttime.
  • God like behavior
God make no mistakes, God decides who is right who is wrong. Same goes for the motorcyclist in Jakarta. Collision with your car? never hope that the motorcyclist will said a simple sorry word to you. Driving in the wrong lane? "who cares". Not wearing a helmet? " I'm invisible".
  • Extreme increase in the motorcycles number on the road with 3.5 million currently active in Jakarta (300 percent growth in 4 years!) while the road only grew by 10 percent.
This one is a real serious issue that the new elected president SBY should address first. Because at this rate by 2014 Jakarta traffic will be dead. Probably its like driving 10 hours from Pondok Indah to Fatmawati while normally it took us about 30 minutes max.

  • According to some data from the Jakarta police official, 88 percent of the accidents in Jakarta which numbers around 3500 accidents involved motorcyclists last year alone (Jakarta Post, 2009).
With the major motorcycle dealer only focusing on the increase of the sales from their product with cheap price and easy financing it only worsened the condition. Where is the social responsibilities? where is the safety promotion in their ads? Loud applause to our motorcycle dealers!!!!! NO WONDERS ACCIDENT ALWAYS OCCURRED!!
  • Motorcycle sucks, so does all the parents who bought it
This one is crazy, Where else on earth you can find 9 years old kid driving around motorcycle as fast as hell without helmet? Jakarta! Where the hell is their bloody parents? what did those kids parents are teaching them? Are they really care about their kids? for god sake. Oh well, people only learn when shit happens.
  • Criminals prefer motorcycle to car to execute criminal acts.
RX king is everyone favorites for pickpocketing!.

So called irresponsible parents
Major concerns

As the price of oil and cars are in the extreme hike, major financial crisis are still lurking us. Motorcycle is actually a better solution for majority of Indonesian instead of broken public transport system. Motorcycle is cheap, reliable, easy to drive around and taken far less road spaces compare to other motor vehicles.

However proper education and strict law should be in place first to walk along the growth of motorcycle which sadly is far from the truth. Bribing a police is common practice therefore driving around in Jakarta is like driving in the jungle, no right and wrong no law only the strongest win. (political connection?)

Driving license system in Indonesia is really need a major rebuilt. As anyone with guts only basically can drive around in Jakarta. And people can apply their driving license just simply by paying the officials.

I know that motorcycle sales contributes greatly to the income tax money in Indonesia but should the government traded the traffic condition with tax income? I don't think so.

Somehow I foreseen that motorcycle is being used as a tool for the low income people to express their feelings that road is belong to them as well not for the rich only. "fuck cars, I'm faster I can do anything I want with my motor". Although its not always the case, many do so. Again proper education should be in place.

Although I said much of bad things, the good things is there for example it gives a lot of people steady income. From the Ojek driver to the factory workers who assemble the bikes. What about the sales team and the mechanics? I support every legal way of making money and this is no different.

In the end,

PLEASE READ MY WRITING AND HAVE A DEEP THOUGHT ESPECIALLY ALL THE PEOPLE I MENTIONED ABOVE.

Am I right? am I wrong? hate me? love me? who cares. -R-

Internet for everyone

Introduction

Hey fellas, its been a while since I wrote my last boring gibberish, just got back home from ultra fun H-O-L-I-D-A-Y in China booyah! I found that China is a very pleasant place to find a bargain in any sense you can imagine but in this section I will focusing on the electronic one. My Dad has been asking me like gazilion times to make the Internet available for everyone in my house however its like the combination of pure laziness(sorry dad) and limitation of budget and technology. But I vowed to myself and to My dad that I will try to find all the equipment needed to set up full blown wireless Internet system in my house.

Problem

Okay some of you might consider me as stupid or exaggerating things because everyone knows that wireless router is the only things I need. Well normally yeah, but my house is stupidly maze like, really thick wall and wooden door. As the result of that, event the fastest furthest wireless router I recently just bought the Buffalo Wireless N (Nfiniti High Power) can only reach my room which is only one room away from the server room.

Buffalo Nfiniti

Solution

Then came out one possible solution. " I need a repeater" I said. Little description about repeater: " A repeater is an electronic device that receives a signal and retransmits it at a higher level/ power or onto the other side of an obstruction so that the signal can cover longer distances.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repeater)" in a simple manner, repeater is a wireless range extender in this sense to expand the range of the wireless Internet router I had. Moving from there I found two repeater that was being recommended by the networking store here in China. One is linksys Wre 54 G the other is Asus WL - 330ge. Since I don't know which one is better I decided to bought two, one of each.

Installation

WL-330ge

Asus WL- 330ge

After went back home to Jakarta, I installed both of them in two different section of my house. The WL -330ge from Asus is somehow more complicated to installed due to the fact that this model actually do have several other features such as router, access point and repeater itself. With that I need to set up the device by log in into the root system and choose the repeater option then input all the necessary credentials to allow the device to communicate with my installed wireless router. The range is somehow oh-kay but should be better. I reckon the Asus model traded range for portability as the dimension is really small and can be move around with ease.

Wre 54 G

Linksys WRe 54 g

This model from Linksys is pure repeater model. That means this model only have one single function, repeater (D'OH). The lack of feature from this model doesn't necessarily mean that its bad, in a matter of fact this repeater model perform adequately well. The installation was really really simple just plug the power cord, wait for 5 seconds and voila it works!!. The range is somehow farther compare to the Asus one because of the external antena that the model provides.

Conclusion

Finally after the installation of this two devices, my house is somehow covered by the range of wireless Internet setup my dad's dreaming of. No major decline in the speed as well although my router is a wireless N model and all two repeaters I installed are still on the old G model. For those of you who wants to extend their wireless coverage you can use either repeater model I stated, but if you want more range I recommend Linksys as it provide a further range. But if you want fully features model or want to set up some hotspot you should use the Asus. Cheers fellas! -R-

Life and Relationship

Well I found this writing very pleasant to read and made me rethink my strategy in my relationship and life.

Read this well and decide whether you would agree with me or not :)

Things that you should know in love and life .....

Seeing your partner through the lens of love rather than fear automatically elevates the relationship to a higher plane. When you can get quiet and note when you are projecting fear, you can make the adjustment to see through a different filter. So often we feel indignant or incensed, but upon closer inspection we will find that we are really afraid. Once we assume our partner's core goodness rather than focusing on their "guilt," they will be more free to show us their best, which accelerates the process of shifting our perspective from one of blame and anxiety to one of acceptance and peace.

Being willing to forgive yourself and your partner, and to make amends when necessary is an ongoing process of cleanup. We all make mistakes; it's human. But when we hold fast to a grudge it eats away at our sense of peace and serenity. If you aren't willing to forgive, you might ask yourself what habit of ego you're attached to. Do you want to continue life with unresolved issues hanging over you?

When we take a stand and refuse to let go of something, we can always find evidence to justify it. Or we can try to make peace. Instead of blaming or making excuses, we can clean things up and move forward. This is not an excuse for staying in a dysfunctional situation, but an opportunity to see innocence. Once we do that, we gain—or give—freedom to move out of a "stuck" place.

Relaxing when times get tough; assuming that "this too shall pass" allows you to roll with the punches. If you know things will inevitably arise to challenge you, you can be more detached when they do. Problems become worse when we dig in our heels and try to force a solution. By relaxing into whatever struggle arises, we remain flexible and open to inspiration and insight.

Even if you have a hard time letting go, you can at least observe yourself taking things very seriously, which in itself helps to detach you from the experience of anxiety. Whatever is happening now won't be happening a year from now, so just keep breathing through the situation and see if you can take things a little less seriously.

Seeing in the dynamic of the relationship the reflection of what you need to learnhelps bring you back to what is important. Sometimes we get lost in the chatter of day-to-day patterns and lose sight of the soul's mandate to bring us closer to realizing our Oneness. The best way to see where we need to work on things is to observe who we are and what we do within the context of a relationship. Any time you recognize your impulse to create distance rather than intimacy, you can make the adjustment and get back on track.

This relationship, as with all relationships, is part of a curriculum to evolve into our highest potential. We come to know ourselves by how we interact with our partner, and by so doing we come to know Spirit.

When you don't know how to handle a problem, pray and meditate, surrendering the decisions to Spirit

Praying and meditating aligns your limited energy with that which is all-powerful. Of course we don’t have all the answers, but by consigning our limitations to our Higher Power, our burden is lifted. We need to be accountable for our words and actions and be willing to work through where we are stuck. We need to stay present and forgive. Beyond that, our creative power is fueled by Spirit. By praying, we ask for help and guidance; by meditating we clear our minds so that the answer will become apparent. By moving aside, we create an opening for God to work miracles in ways we could never imagine.

Honoring your partner's path and allow them the space to find their own way sends a clear message of respect. People need to work things out in their own manner and in their own time. If you try to help where help is not requested, you are signaling your lack of belief in your partner. If you back off and assume someone is strong and intelligent, strength and intelligence are what they will likely find.

Although we are all on this path of realization and expansion together, each of us is unique in our lessons to be learned; the way you do something might be totally different than how someone else needs to process a situation. Rest assured that Spirit is at work in all of our lives, and give yourself a rest from overseeing your partner's personal business.

Keeping up your personal growth work means you will keep your mind sharp and your awareness keen. Read, study, and attend lectures; don't rest on the laurels of what you think you already know. The moment we think we have it all figured out is the moment things will come crashing down around us. Arrogance leaves no room for intimacy or growth, and is certainly not part of a spiritual curriculum. When you immerse yourself in learning, you will always have new skills and interests to apply to a relationship, and thus the relationship will always feel fresh and relevant.

Following the path of your own creativity keeps you attuned to that which moves and inspires you. As you indulge your creative side, you become less dependent on your partner to feel whole. Creative energy is the force that breaks new ground. To sustain love, we need to continually fuel whatever inspires us on the deepest level. Also, creativity balances out the ego and intellectual side of life; it teaches us to play and have fun. When we engage our passions, we radiate passionate energy and thus maintain the interest of our partner as well as having your own sense of fulfillment.

Staying present keeps us in the moment which is where life is. Life does not exist in future predictions or past grievances; all we have for sure is right here and right now. Every moment teaches us something, and if we are busily trying to change or control something we miss the grace intended for us.

By allowing the sacred mystery to unfold without trying to tamper with it, we can move through anything with much more ease and simplicity. As we cease resisting, any so-called negative situation or emotion will have the space to work out. And by the same token, when we are completely alert and aware in any given moment, we are open to the subtle miracles happening all around us. By staying present, we will see our partner for who they are; we will hear clearly their communication and respond to it astutely.

Being grateful for what you have zeros in on what is working, which in turn magnetizes more of the same. Where you put your focus is where you direct your creative intention; so if you want abundance, be grateful for the vitality you have now. If you want a soulful relationship, be grateful for the soulful moments. Gratitude is like a seed you plant; it grows more as it is watered and nourished. Show your partner what you appreciate in them and let them know that they have a positive effect in your life. The acknowledgement of good will call forth more of the same.

Blackberry Messenger 5.0

As well all know today (yesterday 18 July -_-) the mega hype and excitement of the new blackberry messenger version 5.0 is over the top. Was it good? was it bad? was it beyond believe? well, two easy answers:
  1. It is packed with whole lot features.
  2. BUT Its just only the leaked version!!!!!
Yes it's unofficial leaked version which is not available yet in the blackberry website. This BBM messenger should be available with the launching of the latest blackberry OS which is blackberry OS version 5. I really wouldn't recommend anyone to use this newer version of blackberry messenger for security reason. Real example:
  1. One of my friend( well several to be honest) lost their messenger contact.
  2. Their blackberry somehow showed abnormal behavior after install this newer version of BBM.
Although not everyone has the same sad story, like one of my mate sending some funny message through their BBM. I still wouldn't recommend this to be installed to your Blackberry.

For those who still insist may give it a try. But do it at your own risk. -R-

Terrorism and Islam

Introduction

Firstly,

FUCK YOU BLOODY TERRORIST!! YOU FUCKIN FUCK! I HATE YOU MOTHER FUCKER AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!! I CURSE YOU AND I HOPE YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL!!

Again after 4 years of peaceful moment in Indonesia (literally) terrorist shocked us again with two explosions on the two famous hotel; Ritz Carlton hotel and JW Marriot hotel. Thanks to them, gone are our economic stability and growth, gone are our sense of security, gone are the trust of international community to Indo's, gone are the lives of innocent people and the thing that upset me the most Manchester United cancelled their Indonesian tour. Well the only thing that grow in my opinion is just the sentiment, fear and hatred to Islam (Islamophobia).

Although there are no valid evidence that proves that Moslem extremist are behind this act, again the sentiment of the public already pointing to Moslem. Sad day again in the moslem world.

Generally moslem can be divided into two; The extremist moslem and Mainstream moslem (moderate moslem). Sometimes people do asked a question "why all the mainstreamers stay still both in action and spoken words if what all the extremist done are wrong and against the Islam way of teaching?". The number of extremist is way too small compare to the mainstreamer, like 1:5 no 1:50 roughly yet the extremist making more impact than the mainstreamers in spreading the true meaning of Islam.

  • Why are the extremist speak out loud? why are the minority claiming that they are more Islam than others by doing something contrary to Islam itself by cutting an "ayat" of Quran and Hadits for their own benefits and supporting their wrong doings?

  • Why are the mainstreamers stay silent? why are the majority stay still? why are the mainstreamers feels alright while their believe is being torn apart by the minor?
Possible Answers

  1. Mainstreamers are somehow agreed to what the extremist done to some extent. If this option is true then we don't need to discuss anything anymore.
  2. Discrepancies among moslem itself that lead to separation, disagreement and far from one uniting muslim especially in the Ulama world who has their own agenda. This answers somehow true in reality as Islam itself is divided into two major stream which are the Suni and the Shiah (Shi'te) and been disputed for more than a thousand years therefore we rarely support each other and killing are more imminent. (I Hate This So Bloody Much!)
  3. Mainstreamers doesn't know what to do, doesn't know which are right and wrong, doesn't know which one to follow and above all questioning whether Islam are really the correct religion to follow and decided to stay still while thinking what to do. I reckon the majority of the reader will agree with me on this one. I somehow had my moment.
  4. Mainstreamers are mainstreamers, they had their own agenda to pursue, a goal to achieve and benefits to be after well not all mainstreamers are like this but somehow I foreseen the trend. They follow what they were told its true, they agreed on what majority of people agreed, they support what benefits them and destroy everything that gives them a disadvantageous position. (Hypocrites Muslim?) Worst type of mainstreamers I reckon.
Which one are you?

About Jihad

Westerners who identified Jihad as terror, destruction, bombing, killing others are definitely in the wrong-side of the true definition of Jihad.

Yet as Muslim (extremist or some mainstreamers) which I can said(supposedly) more knowledgeable about Jihad than the westerner define the Jihad exactly the same as westerner and even practice it. Shameful, painful and sad. Therefore I hereby declared and believed that extremist are not Muslim because they are worst than the westerner itself.

Even the greatest human of all Muhammad S.A.W once said that " Written words in paper are more important than the blood spilling of the syuhada"

Being an extremist is not cool at all seriously, how come that you guys thinking that by blowing things off you will go straight to heaven? everybody curse you, innocent people died and besides ever imagine how sad are your parents are? they are not raising you to be such a disgrace that somehow being hated by everyone. THINK ABOUT IT ! -R-

The more I write about this, the angrier I am. F U terrorist seriously! one of the MAIN reason I'm going back to Jakarta is to watch Red Devils game; but in the end all I watched is the real devilish act against humanity. -R-

Eleven Hints for Life

1. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.

2. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an
hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it
takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth,
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you
smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day
seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,
be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and
one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it
hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck
a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may
heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best
of everything they just make the most of everything that comes
along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Honesty, a healthy life style for your soul

Terminology

My own terminology for honesty is

"a reflection of being true to yourself and others by saying or doing things as it is where brain, heart and physical action are fully synchronize in harmony seamlessly." -R-

Honesty & Society

Though in reality honesty somehow really really hard to implement in our normal daily life. Simple example would be how we usually blame the traffic for coming late on any occasion.

However I somehow noticed that in fact "not being honest" at some extend is being accepted as a normal action in society and people just don't give a damn about it. Wanna prove of my point?
  • People know that if someone said "Insya Allah" in Indo, mostly it won't happen yet we were okay with it. Insya Allah is being abuse and use as a more polite way to say "Im not gonna do it" whereas in truth Insya Allah means "If Allah wills". That means its up to God! not us! if you don't wanna do it then said you don't wanna do it. (honesty disease I)
The growing acceptance of not being honest in the society really annoyed and worrying me somehow.
  • How can we form friendship base on lies?
  • How can we form relationship base on lies?
  • How can we form partnership base on lies?
  • How can we do business base on lies?
  • How can we develop country base on lies?

Honesty among Human

Me, myself realize its really hard for being truthful all the time, Everybody has its secret, everybody has its own story. Some want to share everything, some want to hide everything, some hanging in between.

The worst part of human being are the one who talks about others though in matter of fact ITS NOT TRUE AT ALL. I fully understand that human is a creatures born with high degree of curiosity, everyone has the right to seek about things they like the most. In this case, the curiosity to know about what other people are doing. But that privilege doesn't necessarily means that we can invade other people privacy and life by ruining their reputation. Im not specifically said that its all about people who badmouth others, It can work the other way around like you talk about how great one person is where in a matter of fact its lie. (honesty disease II)

"your mouth is your sword, your soul is your sheath. Sheath your sword then peace are upon us, draw your sword then war are inevitable" -R-

Conclusion

Act of honesty from heart is a necessity if we want to succeed now and then. By being honest you are protecting yourself from anxiety, stomachache, heartache, headache and other diseases that may come along when you lie. You better not to say anything at all rather than telling lies. Not being honest even once may lead to another dishonest action or behavior thus you will be trapped in the cycle of dishonesty.

Stay honest, stay healthy mind body and soul. Try this NOW! -R-

sarcasm scientific facts

'Sarcasm' brain areas discovered

Image of the brain
The scientists pinpointed three important brain areas

Scientists say they have located the parts of the brain that comprehend sarcasm - honestly.

By comparing healthy people and those with damage to different parts of the brain, they found the front of the brain was key to understanding sarcasm.

Damage to any of three different areas could render individuals unable to understand sarcastic comments.

An example of sarcasm was "Joe came to work, and instead of beginning to work,

he sat down to rest. His boss noticed and said to Joe 'don't work too hard.'"

In fact, what Joe's boss actually meant by his comment was "you are a slacker".

In the neutral version Joe came to work and began work immediately. His boss

made the same "don't work too hard" comment, but this time, he actually

meant that Joe was a hard worker.

The volunteers who had damage to their prefrontal lobes were unable

to correctly interpret the sarcastic story, while all of the other participants could.

Dr Shamay-Tsoory said this fitted with what is already known about the anatomy

of the brain.

She said language areas on the left hand side of the brain interpret the literal

meaning of words and the frontal lobes and the right side of the brain understand

the social and emotional context.

An area called the right ventromedial prefrontal cortex then integrates the literal

meaning with the social/emotional context, which will reveal any sarcasm.

"A lesion in each region in the network can impair sarcasm, because

if someone has a problem understanding a social situation, he or she may fail

to understand the literal language," she said.

Choice out of Choices

"DO WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE?"

An old saying or question that never really have an answer or proper answers.
That said, people can chooses to be or to do something. E.g:

People can chooses to be a pilot;
People can chooses to kill themselves;
People can chooses to be an army;
People can chooses to be a criminal;
People can chooses to be a hooker;
People can chooses to be a drug addict;
People chooses to love someone;

Sweet, sound simple and perfect.
BUT; have you ever thought that in reality what happen is:

Did people chooses to get infected by breast cancer?
Did people chooses to get infected by AIDS?
Did people chooses to died by swine flu?
Did people chooses to got killed by car accident?
Did people chooses to love someone but in the end being dumped?

Are the freedom of choices really being outweigh by a thing so called "faith"?

OR

Faith are the full representation of the choices that we made along the path of life?

"life is simple, we can sing, we can cry, we can fly, we can deny. Thus in the end, Its all about heaven or hell."

Life in the digital era

Living in the digital era or may I say the "Age of Internet" somehow is very amusing and simple.

Feels hungry? just go surf the internet and order some food online! you can customize your food as you like then they will deliver it right in front of your door. Want to buy some groceries but too lazy to go to your nearest supermarket? again you can order online without a hazzle. Same goes for cars, house and hookers (OOPS!).

As I travel through the vast array of internet content. One thing is always and probably will always be the same. The needs to supply and memorize the USERNAME and PASSWORD.

Agree? everyone with me?

Try this, everyone has at least one e-mail address; okay maybe two. Each with their individual username and maybe password. Your work e-mail, your personal e-mail add your facebook account, twitter account, myspace account your previous food account, supermarket account, ebay account, online shopping account, Paypal account, online banking account. Okay you can make every accounts has exactly the same password and username but yeah as a person who lives in the way of IT. I totally wouldn't recommend that.

IT really is a pain in the ass!

I know its for security reason, I know its a way of monitoring the traffic and active user by the web admin. I know we can always store our login credentials in our browser.

But again security measure prevents all the simplicity.

Conclusion

  • Simplicity can't work coherently with security.
  • Digital era may simplified some part of our way living but somehow add burdens in another departments.
  • Can we finally see the end of the tunnel where everything stated as Simple, and simple is what we really have?

Empowerment of the future

Through out the history of the mankind, we always want to know how to predict the future, see through the future or steer out the future. Alas, not a single attempt was really brought out major success scientifically (screw all of the dukun and stuff).

Why we want to know about the future? why bother?

  • Essentially, curiosity are part of the mankind biggest gift (major flop?)
  • "We always want what we can't have" (Taken from Coldplay fix you lyrics)
  • Laid back/ implication knowing before action/ risk averse approach.
  • Stressed -- relaxed / relaxed -- stressed cure.
As we go on digging the essence of the future, we tend to forgot about the past(history). Though on my opinion history is what made us. History is a written prove that we actually done something that is worth remembering. History made us strong, history made us learn from our mistakes and hopefully never repeat the same mistakes.

HISTORY is part of the FUTURE itself.

We did something, We made mistake, We learned, We improve

That's my FUTURE. Define, Refine. Enough said.

Transformers 2 Facts

  • The story suck balls.
  • Megan Fox is not a tranny for God Sake T_T
  • The animations are beyond awesome.
  • Outside US, Transformers 2 generates USD 200 million in 5 days. (obviously, its bloody crowded here in Jakarta)
  • With all the cleavage showing, makeout scene and etc. Transformers 2 is NOT watchable by underage kids.
  • 34.000 articulation point are moving to make Optimus Prime talk.
  • The overly complex Transformers 2 animation consumes 150 Terabyte of harddisk space. (Transformers 1 only took about 20 terabyte).
  • If the animator only use one supercomputer to render all the animation that consist of 555 visual effect scene it would require 16.000 years to FINISHED!!! (pure awesomeness!)
  • I hate Michael Bay but I loves the ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) animation team. Can't wait for another amazing job from you guyss!!
